GGU-AXPILE: Further EAP examples
A variety of further pile designs can be found in the EAP. The EAP examples below can be found in the example files provided. Analysis was carried out using the lower and the upper table values.
EAP example | Pile type | Page in EAP |
B3 | Bored pile | 274 |
B4 | Pre-cast driven pile | 277 |
B5 | Fundex pile | 281 |
B6 | Pre-cast driven pile | 284 |
B7 | Franki pile (pressure-injected toe) | 288 |
Example 7 demonstrates design of a Franki pile. The design of Franki piles is essentially different to that of normal driven piles. The die characteristic load F(G,k) for permanent and F(Q,k) for changeable loads must be specified. The subsequent analysis then provides the required pile toe volume and the norm-driving work component W (see also “Theoretical principles: Pile design to EAP” Section "Design of Franki piles").
