GGU-CANTILEVER: "Deep-seated stability/Heave of anchor soil" menu item

Using this menu item, you can select the intersection with the wall manually and enter an appropriate depth.

In the "Analysis for increased earth pressure/at-rest pressure" group box you can define whether the deep-seated stability analysis should be done with active earth pressure or alternatively, the partial factors DS-P/T should be used.

EAB R 44 stipulates that this must also be used for increased or at-rest earth pressure to analyse deep-seated stability. In addition, the partial factors for DS-P/T (LC1/2) must be adopted. In the DS-P/T load case the partial factor for passive earth pressure is 1.35. Only when the 'normal' partial factor for the passive earth pressure is greater than 1.35 DS-P/T is adopted.

The partial factors for the actions to DS-P/T are around 5% greater than those to DS-T. Simplified, but conservatively, the anchor forces are multiplied by the factor '1.05'. R 44 does not always return higher utilisation factors.

Verification of heave of anchor soil can be activated in the lower group box of the dialog box. If a value unequal to “0” is entered for the height of the dead man when entering the anchors, and this check box is activated, verification is performed like the method described in Section 7.3.4 of the Piling Handbook 1977.
