GGU-UNDERPIN: Step 3: Define load on the underpinning body

From the "Editor 1" menu select "Body (general)".

Define the "Vertical load" and the "Horizontal load" as permanent loads at the top of the wall. Define the location of the vertical load from the top right edge of the underpinning wall using "x(load)". The "Load transmission width" is required for verification of internal stability to EC 2 (see "Theoretical principles/Verification of unreinforced concrete"). Define the appropriate value, here.

By entering the "Footing length" you define the length of the underpinning body. This value, however, is only used in the bearing capacity and settlement analyses. Additionally, you can define any "Base inclination" of the underpinning body in the above dialog box (see "Theoretical principles/Base inclination").

For the example enter the values shown in the above dialog box.
