GGU-UNDERPIN: System description

Knowing from experience that having to work one's way through a software manual can be very tiresome, the following sections provides a short description of GGU-UNDERPIN's main functions, which will quickly enable you to carry out an underpinning wall analysis. Details, when needed, will be found in the appropriate chapter of this manual. The following example of an underpinning wall is to be calculated.

The groundwater level lies on excavation base. At the top of the wall a permanent vertical load of 200 kN/m and a changeable vertical load of 100 kN/m are present. The load is transferred with a transmission width of 1.50 m. The unit weight of the concrete is = 23 kN/m³. Behind the top of the wall the ground surface is elevated by 0.5 m. A live load of 5 kN/m² acts on the ground surface.
