GGU-3D-SSFLOW: "Define section" menu item

Using this menu item you can generate vertical sections through the system by clicking the appropriate nodes. Intermediate points are automatically generated by the program. The last point defined is deleted from the list by clicking the right mouse button. You can also define a circular section, ending back at the starting point. If the circular section is defined anti-clockwise, it protrudes similar to a tower. If the circular section is defined clockwise, you will see a depression; you can "see inside" this "hole". When the section is how you want it press [Return].

You will then see the FEM mesh for your defined section on the screen. In addition, a site plan is automatically displayed on the screen, showing the system outline and the defined section. This site plan can be switched off using the menu item "Graphics preferences/Section legend" by deactivating the "Show section line" check box.

You can use one of the numerous options for graphical visualisation of the defined section from the "Evaluation" menu, for example as potential contour lines or discharges. If you use the evaluation options from the "3D" menu, a cut-away, three-dimensional view of the system is generated.

In order to move from the section view to the normal system view for evaluation, go to the menu item "Mesh(x/y)/Mesh".

If you have previously saved a section it can be loaded again using "Load section". The "Prev. section" button is only visible if a section has already been defined and loads the section defined immediately prior to this action.
