GGU-RETAIN: "Anchor and strut summary" menu item

Here the design values for all the system's anchors and struts are shown in a message box.

The message box is only available after a calculation. It shows up to eight anchors or struts at a time; use the "vor" (next) and "zurück" (back) buttons to page through them.

Columns with the partial safety factor concept

All forces are normal forces in the direction of the anchor or strut, per running metre of wall (kN/m). If the option "Anker- Steifenabstand verwenden" (use anchor/strut spacing) is active, they are given per anchor or strut (kN).

Column Meaning
N(d) Design value of the normal force
N((g+q+w),k) Characteristic normal force from all loads
N((g+w),k) Characteristic normal force from permanent loads and water pressure
N(q,k) Share of variable loads, calculated as N((g+q+w),k) − N((g+w),k)
N(w,k) Share of water pressure and the remaining permanent loads except earth pressure, see below
M(d) Design moment of the strut (only if struts are present)
N,d' Design value if "Anker immer mit BS-P bemessen" or "Steifen immer mit BS-P bemessen" (older standards: with LF 1) is active

What N(w,k) contains: besides water pressure, all remaining permanent loads except earth pressure, i.e. permanent point loads, vertical strut loads (unless applied as live load), the anchor prestressing force and shares of the passive earth pressure. N(w,k) is therefore not the pure water pressure share. Variable point loads are not included in N(w,k); they are contained in N(q,k) (from version 13.16; older versions also included them in N(w,k)).

Differences between columns are not an exact split of the anchor force by load cause. The mobilised passive earth pressure is determined separately for each column, so the columns do not add up linearly. A difference such as N((g+w),k) − N(w,k) therefore only approximates the earth pressure share.

N(q,k) can be larger than the variable load entered. N is the force in anchor direction; only N · cos(inclination) acts horizontally. In addition, a load is distributed via the wall system to the anchor and the earth support: if it acts above the anchor, the anchor takes more than the load itself, and the earth support is relieved accordingly.

Columns with the global safety concept

The maximum normal force (max. N) and the maximum moment (max M) are shown for each anchor or strut.
