GGU-STRATIG: "Multiple gauge" menu item

This menu item allows input and/or editing of multiple gauges (see "Ex_Water well.bop" file). The menu item can also be used, in principle, for the presentation of individual gauges (well casing). After clicking on this menu item, you will arrive at a dialog box which will allow definition of a new multiple gauge, or selection of a current one.

After clicking "BuP" you see the following dialog box:

In "Base data" you enter the name and the position of the gauge:

The heights of the individual casings are given with reference to the height of the backfill (= ground level). If the pipes protrude from the ground the height difference must be entered as a negative value. With "dx" the position of each casing, with reference to the centre of the backfill, is given. If you activate the "Show top of gauge casing" check box, the respective elevations are entered as annotations in the corresponding gauge in the visualisation.

The backfill horizons and the individual casings are entered after clicking on the buttons "Backfill" and "Casing 1", "Casing 2" etc. in the previous dialog box. The same editor box as for entering casing for a gauge on the stratigraphic log opens. However, it is also possible to define a separate width for each layer of the backfill or casing. In order to actually display the casings in the graphics the "Show casing 1", etc., check boxes must be activated.

Predefined hatching with fixed codes similar to those for well casings, are available for gauge casings, for example code number 500 for "screen", etc..

If you would like to use special casing details in the profile, use the menu item "Preferences/Bitmaps". With this option it is possible to tie in drawings which you have created with a graphics program (e.g. Paintbrush).
