GGU-3D-TRANSIENT: "Define section" menu item
Define the required section by clicking system nodes with the left mouse button. The node points are numbered. Intermediate points are automatically generated by the program. The last point defined is deleted from the list by clicking the right mouse button. You can also define a circular section, ending back at the starting point. If the circular section is defined anti-clockwise, it protrudes like a tower. If the circular section is defined clockwise, you will see a depression; you can "see inside" this "hole". When the section is how you want it press [Return].
On the screen you will then see the FEM mesh for your defined section. In addition, a site plan is automatically displayed on the screen, showing the system outline and the defined section. This site plan can be switched off using the menu item "Graphics preferences/Section legend" by deactivating the "Show legend" check box.
In the "Evaluation" menu you can use one of the numerous options for graphical visualisation of the defined section, for example as potential contour lines or discharges. The respective time step is displayed in the status bar. In order to move from the section view to the normal system view for evaluation, go to the menu item "Mesh(x/y)/Mesh".
If you have previously saved a section it can be loaded again using "Load section". The "Prev. section" button is only visible if a section has already been defined and loads the section defined immediately prior.
