GGU-STABILITY: "Soil dowels/StC/Geosynthetics/Steel strips/Tension members" menu item

In complete analogy to surface points, you can define the locations of soil dowels, stabilisation columns after Neidhart/Gömmel, geosynthetics, steel strips or tension members. First, select the required element from the dialog box. After defining two x-/y-coordinates with the mouse you will see a dialog box in which you can enter further parameters for the respective element.

  • "Soil dowels"
You specify the acceptable earth pressure e,d (acts perpendicular to dowel axis) at the two points clicked (in kN/m/m). The direction of action is clearly indicated in the subsequent graphics. Negative values must be entered where required.

  • "StC"
If, in the menu item "Editor 1/Analysis options" menu item, you have activated the "StC present" check box, you can define stabilisation columns by means of the displayed "StC" button instead of soil dowels using the mouse.

  • "Geosynthetics"
A dialog box opens, from which you select the required product from the list of geosynthetics manufacturers or the product range you selected in the "Editor 1/Analysis options" menu item.

  • "Steel strips"
A dialog box appears in which you enter µ, steel strip width, R0 and R,d.

  • "Tension members"
Enter the design value of material resistance R,d, the diameter and the free length of the tension member.
