The underpinning walls of an excavation in flowing groundwater will experience increased earth pressure on the active side and decreased earth pressure on the passive side. In accordance with EAB R 63, the effect on the active side can generally be ignored, while the effect on the passive side must always be taken into consideration. You can make the appropriate selection in the bottom dialogue group box.
