GGU-2D-SSFLOW: Step 10: Analyse system without basin liner (Example 2)

The system analysed in the previous section is to be investigated again, this time without a seal in the basin. The slope seal remains.

Go to the menu item "Boundary/(Soils) In section" and trace around the triangles at the base of the water side, which were defined as "Clay". Give these triangles the soil number "1" (= Sand).

Go to the menu item "System/Analyse".

Display the potential contours once again (see Step).

Determine the water percolating through the embankment (see Step 9).

The discharge is, as expected, dramatically larger, by a factor of about 40:
