GGU-FIELDCAPACITY: KA5 soil types¶

Menu Soil types / KA5 soil types (Ctrl+F). The dialog lists all 31 fine soil types according to KA5, Tab. 30, with their limits for clay, silt and sand.

You can narrow the list down:

Abbreviation: search by abbreviation or name, for example "Sl" or "lehmig". The names are the German KA5 names.
Clay (%), Silt (%), Sand (%): only soil types whose range contains the value you enter remain. With all three values you find the soil type for a grain-size distribution.

Below the table you see how many entries remain after filtering.

The dialog is for reference. For the evaluation, the program determines the soil type of each sample itself (see Calculation according to KA5).
